AOMG Steps Up Process Safety
From 20th to 22nd July 2011 in Bangkok 25 participants from member companies from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand attended a HAZOP study training course. The course was led by Ir. V. Gopinadhan, an experienced HAZOP trainer from the oil and gas industry. The chairman of AOMG Technical Committee, Mr Low Yin Peng from Pacific Oleochemicals and Mr Qua Kiat Seng, AOMG Advisor helped to design the content. This course was uniquely focused on the oleochemical industry and the workshop used P & IDs from continuous and batch oleochemical plants.
The training provided an excellent platform for networking and sharing of best practices. Mr Steve Goei, COO from PT Soci Mas, who attended the training said, “It’s not only a very good training but good opportunity for all trainees to share knowledge and experience. Thanks to AOMG TC for conducting this fruitful training. Thanks to all seniors who shared their knowledge willingly which helps the juniors learn. Make this kind of training at least once a year to give a chance for engineers to improve their skills and knowledge.”
Participants agreed to support another training next year, this time to be held in Indonesia. Our host country member Thailand Oleochemicals Co Ltd feted participants to a gala dinner. At the dinner Mr Piya Suri, Division Manager of Product Sales and his colleagues gave participants a very warm welcome.
